WHAT IS HAPPENING. Who even knows! I don't claim to have, like, alllllll the answers... but I was in the American Studies department at Yale when this off-brand super villain rigged an election the first time. AmStud is a very socialisty program, or was. IDK if the DEI cuts hit Yale yet. They were always on the conservative side but we did see systemic changes in my time there. Our program dug deep into the fractured history of these lands. The rollbacks, the cuts, the uncertainty, the whiplash. The bozos in the media. The nazism. The disappearance of dissidents. The fall of the empire. I am not surprised by any of it. But of course I'm still, as I've been saying, enraged. One person cannot stop this avalanche, trust me I've tried. If I could, I would have ya'lls back, but alas we all have to play a role in stopping global authoritarianism. So step up.
Privileged folks, the employed, the healthy, the wealthy, the ones with down time: Have called your reps? Talked to someone whose views differ from yours? With the goal of understanding instead of debating and being right? Try. For me. For all of us oppressed. You may not feel it RIGHT NOW, Oh but you will. Your frail voice will be on some agency line, private or governmental, begging for care as I did this week. I spent hours on the phone Friday trying to get my cut services--EBT and Home Care--reinstated. Will it happen this week? Probably not. But a bitch has rice beans and pasta. I have the political boundaries of the USA tattooed on my inner forearms. When I get bloods drawn or infusions, I stare at the ink I drew in the studio, a sketch I'd practiced dozens of times on my travels cross this magnificent, mismanaged and under-appreciated mass of land. A mass of land that belongs to indigenous tribes and not settlers, ever. The Americas are gorgeous. The whole planet is, but damn like. We got some SIGHTS right here. And it's all at risk of being bulldozed for some AI servers or some golf courses or some FUCK SHIT. We need food to EAT and water (and coffee!) to DRINK. We need places to PLAY. We need air to BREATHE. Weed to SMOKE! Don't you see that?????? They are trying to privatize ALL of it. ALL OF IT. And not pay taxes on a dime, taking up the roads with their Amazon fleets, congesting the airways with their private jets, upsetting the orcas in their yachts. Fuck shit.

It's a fucking laser beam that scans your plate and puts a GPS tracker on your car. They're monsters. Absolutely vile creatures those bastards.
